Fenlar looked around the vault to see if anyone was here. Luckily Fenlar was the only being to have been here for a long time. The vault was full of books upon books. There seemed to be no end to them. Some one who reads could spend years in here and not read no more than a few hundred of the million. But Fenlar was never here to read. This was the only place he found that was always quiet. He quietly walked in.
He had found this place a year ago. He has used it ever sense. At first he thought of telling Talent about it. Then decided on keeping it to himself. Because if Talent found out he would spend the rest of his life here. Fenlar could not afford Talent to waste his life here. So he kept it to himself. He had found this place perfect for sleeping while Talent was away. He had also read a few of the books.
From the books that he read he learned thing that were of no impotence to him. He has never liked books. They only showed how to do very small actions. None had been written about how to fight or how to survive. So after a few months of reading he stopped and found that the books were great for beds. But after he would sleep he always put the books back to where they were.
Fenlar stopped in the middle of the vault and looked at the ball of fur on his back. I hope I wasn't too fast for you. I needed to make sure that we wouldn't be followed. He put Bibi down on the floor. What do you think?

Babi plopped down to the floor and looked around. He was in a room filled with countless books. He chuckled at the thought of bringing Tach here. She would likely build herself a miniature castle out of the volumes, not caring for what they held. The mouse gazed up at Fenlar.
Babi's fat sides still heaved from the ride to this new, secret place. He heard the other summon's question, and gave a second scan around the room. Well, He speculated, It really is quite something.

Fenlar looked down at Bibi. Very. I don't usually read them. But they make great beds. Fenlar walked over to some books. He was feeling a little awkward. This was the first time he had met a summon alone in a long time. He looked back at Bibi. What is life like with Tach? He was trying to get a good conversation going. He picked some up with his fangs and made a bed with them.

Babi shuffled his paws awkwardly before Fenlar broke the silence. The inquisition made him grin. He did not know where to begin; after all, a life with Tach was a full one. From the first day he was jostled from sleep to the present, the girl was always on the go. So long as she carried him and didn't make him walk, Babi was glad to accompany her wherever she roamed. Life with Tach... he began, is the way life should be, for it was true that no mouse was as lucky as he.
His gleeful expression suddenly soured as he truly realized that here in this colossus of a library, Tach was not present. Before he could be overcome with the anxiety of being separated from his master, he said And what of life with Talent?

Fenlar chuckled. Life with Talent is. . . interesting. One second you are sleeping peacefully. The next you are out running just for the hell of it. Fenlar smiled. It is the best any hunter can have. And I am a great hunter. If we weren't in this place. More of a place like a great valley. Ya that would be great. we would hunt, forage, and explore. Fenlar gave a sigh. But I don't think that will ever happen. . .
He let that in the air for a while. He then looked back at Bibi. Fenlar saw that he looked uncomfortable. Fenlar walked over to him then sat down. What is the matter?

Babi listened to Felar retell his feelings on life with his master. After that, a question was posed. The mouse flew into an uproar of rodent-giggles at such a high frequency he wondered if Fenlar would be able to hear them. The nervous laughter shook his plump sides.
When his fit of nerves finally subsided, he spoke. Well, look around, he began. I am here, in a library with one who could easily devour me, Babi joked. But as I was thinking about Tach, I realized that this short while is the largest amount of time we've ever spent apart.[/b[ The mouse felt too bashful to explain that he held some envy for Talent.

Fenlar came up very close to Bibi. If I was going to eat you I would have done it the moment I saw you. So get that idea of me eating you out of your head. Fenlar was about to go back to making a bed when he remembered how Bibi had said something. He laughed. It took him a few seconds to control himself.
Talent did the right thing in leaving you with me. If you saw what they were doing you would be eating Talents eyes. Fenlar started to laugh again. He looked back over to Bibi. Why do you try to protect her so much? She is a capable person. She can very much defend herself.

Babi shrugged his shoulders as best a mouse could. The two bone peaked upon his back fat, then tumbled back down. "Tach is my best friend." he contemplated the truth of this statement. He hadn't really known anyone else in his short mouse-years. He was quite alarmed by the realization that this was the very first real conversation he had ever had with someone other than Tach.
Whether she can defend herself or not, Babi licked his lips, choosing his words carefully. Whether she is capable or not, you look out for your best friend. Not so much as a defender, or a caretaker, but a net to fall back on, always there, just in case.

Fenlar nodded to the mouse. I agree. Fenlar got up from where he was resting and walked over to a few book shelves. He was thinking very carefully about whether or not to tell this summon what he has been doing here. The decision came to him.
The reason I come here is to find an answer to my question. Well for the most part it is our question. Mine and Talents. We are trying to find out why we are here. Not why we are in this area specifically. Why do we exist? It is a question that everyone seems to try to ignore. Though it is a valid question. Why are we needed in this world?
Most of us have already died in one life or have had something happen to them to make them change into what they are now. Why us and not others who have done the same or even better than us. It is maddening to try and find out. Luckily we still keep our quality's as Drifters or we would have forgotten about this a long time ago.
Fenlar looked back at Bibi. What do you think about this?

Babi twitched his whiskers. He was taken somewhat off guard by the sudden, deep inquisition. He licked his palms, as all mouses do, and began to run them through his pelt, as all self respecting mouses do. For Babi, this activity was most thoroughly done when he was immersed in thought. When he finally finished, he realized his rudeness.
Please forgive me. Babi sniffled, preparing to answer the question, hough he could think of nothing. Our masters are chosen to have a second chance in life because they served well in heir first. They are each named for something they did well in the past. He squeaked knowingly, But what does it matter? The important thing is that we are here now.

Fenlar didn't mind the rudeness of Bibi. He has been asking a fair amount of questions that normally wouldn't be asked. While listening to the answer that Bibi was giving he tried to see if it helped him in any way. Unfortunately it didn't.
Yes it is true. Fenlar though on that for a moment. He gave a depressed sigh. What will happen to us when we die? The question was more of to himself than Bibi. Though he was still wanting an answer for it. He really hoped that some light could be shown on the subject.
