Murder did not expect this to happen. When she gabbed his arm he thought she was going to throw him. But he was very wrong. When he felt the pain flow through him he knew what to do. It was a technique that he had made himself. He clouded his mind with shadow. He wouldn't be able to feel the pain right there but when he lets the shadow move out of his mind he will feel all of the pain in one second.
But for now he knew what to do. There was one mistake that Pain made. She exposed her wrist. So Murder placed his other dagger right on the vein that flowed through that point. It was finally time for his to talk. "I would do well to stop and give." His voice was deep and very dark. He was starting to get pissed off.

Pain smiled at Murder's early speech of victory. What he hadn't realized was that by moving his other dagger he'd freed up her sword arm. She twisted it and her sword pulled forward, and was now on his neck, tip poised. "I don't think so, I think we might be at a draw, no?" She smiled. It had been a good fight, and she was happy she'd gotten to get some exercise in before she'd retreated to her room. "Shall we call it for now?"

Murder could only grunt. Pain finally let go of his arm. He lightly patted her sword out of the way. He then let go of the shadow and pain instantly shot through him. Then it when away as soon as it came. His eyes were getting back there value so he started to stretch. He gave a sigh. He was now very relaxed. He walked to the wall where Tarna was. She dropped and landed on his shoulder. I think you did very well. But one thing stumps me. Why not kill her? Murder chuckled. Because it would look bad to Gea.
Murder looked back at Pain. He gave her a grin. "You are very good I will give you that. But you need more control of what you do. There were many time where I could have easily killed you. But besides that it was fun. What do you plan to do now?" He wasn't saying this to gloat. He was saying it as pointers for her.

Pain let go of his hand and watched as he walked over to his summon on the wall. "I know you could've, and that's fine. If I thought you were going to kill me, then I'd have tried harder. But I wasn't fighting for life here, I was sparring, so I wasn't too worried. Besides, fighting for killing isn't something we do here. We're a team." It sounded weird to say that, because a lot of the time she didn't feel very cooperative with a lot of the people around here, but still, she knew they were. "If you were a Virtue, you'd have been dead before the fight barely began," she grinned and turned to look at Suna. She put her arm out and Suna jumped up onto it, running up her arm to sit on her shoulder. "I must say," she said, turning back to look at Murder, "I was really impressed with your power. It must've taken a lot of time to learn how to control it well." She pulled her gloves out from her back pocket and put them back on, setting her sword safely in its spot on her right side. "I know it took a long time to learn to use mine in combat well." She smiled, and answered his question finally. "I don't know what we're going to do now. Did this cause I was bored, and now I'm not, so maybe I'll go see if anyone wants to talk. Or.." She shrugged. "Train some more. That's the best part about being immortal, we got lotsa time on our hands." She laughed and hoped she'd lightened the mood a little after their skill battle.

Murder chuckled. "If you knew that I was going to kill you, you would already be dead." He remembered the breakfast in the morning. "If thats all of being a team then I would love to see how your friendships work." He went over to the dagger that he threw and flicked it into the air. It landed in its sheath that was at his ankle. He was a bit confused on what a virtue was. He had heard the name before. But not in that way.
"A lot of people on the main land like the virtues. And I don't mind them. They have caused me no problem. So I don't think badly of them." He shrugged. He then gave her a smile. "Thank you. It took me about. . . 5 years I believe. But it wasn't the only thing I could do. And it has saved my life." He looked at Pains hand before she put the gloves on. There seamed to be no marks on her hand to suggest what she did. He shrugged. He won't ask her right now. It wasn't the right time.
Murder gave a sigh. "But we can't age. I think that is why some people that I know think it is a curse. And that the age of most of the other sins I can see why. It would be horrible to be stuck at like 14 or 16 for the rest of your life." Murder thought about it. He decided that she might be able to answer his question. "Who is Taint?"

Pain listened to Murder talk. He mentioned that most people on the mainland liked the Virtues, and she frowned at this. When he was done talking, she commented. "Well yes I agree, sometimes I think it sucks being stuck looking 15 for my whole existence." At this she laughed. But the laughter quickly turned to a somber face and then turned away, to look in another direction then at Murder. "The Virtues may not have done anything to you, but they're the reason we're where we are now. The place we had before wasn't on an island, and it was ruled by a beautiful and fair ruler, said woman named Taint." She stared off, thinking about the past. "But, she grew weak, and one day the Virtues and humans attacked us.We had to escape, and we were split up into two groups of Sins. One group followed Vengeance, of whom you know and have met, and the other group followed Deception." She frowned at this idea. Splitting up was a stupid idea. "In the fray of the attack, I lost my brother, who I had just found for the first time since our deaths. He had brought so much happiness to my life, and then he was ripped away from me." At this point her face had turned from sad to angry, and her fists clenched. "My brother was taken from me again and it's all the Virtues fault!" She stood for a moment, her arm over her eyes. After a pause, she whipped away a tear and looked up, smiling. "Sorry, didn't mean to dump that all on you, just been cooped up inside for so long I guess. At least you know my story now." She laughed, just a quiet small laugh, and then continued. "Taint was a wonderful leader. I didn't get to talk to her much, but she had powers that I could never even hope to begin to understand, and her summon was a great wolf named Larketh. We don't exactly know where she went, but I know that many of us miss her very much. And if she does come back, well I'm sure you'll understand why." Pain waited for Murder's response while she scratched Suna's head with her hand. Suna purred into her ear and Pain smiled.

Murder looked up at the sealing. He was going through his memory's. Remembering his time before coming here. "I used to have a brother. Over sorts anyway. He wasn't a brother by blood. He was a brother by trust. And that is hard to come by.
"We met on at the orientation of a 'job'. Everyone was pared with someone. We were pared together. He was a kick back stubborn kid. While I was a up tight do-what-you-want man. We were total opposites. But when in a fight we were dominator's. He disabled the target while I took it out. We were the best team.
"When the testing was over he came to me telling me he wasn't going to join. I asked why. He said that the 'job' meant killing Innocent people. I didn't care. He said that it will ruin my life. I called him a selfish wimp. We got into a fight and he left. I have never seen him again. " Murder gave a sigh. "I will always hate him for that."
Tarna started to hum in Murders ear. Then he started to relax. Murder smiled. Thank you. Tarna, in a way, kissed his cheek. Your welcome. Murder looked back at Pain. He was now smiling.
"Explain to me why please. I have heard of many strong leaders that were also horrible people. Also you have yet to say if she started the fight." Murder might be a little blunt but he wanted to get to the point.

Pain listened as Murder explained some of his story to her. She felt for him. She knew what it was like to lose a brother. After Murder asked her to clarify however, her face turned a more neutral mood then a calm one. "Well..." She wasn't entirely sure what to answer that she hadn't already said. She knew so little about what happened in the past that it hurt her a little. Thankfully, Suna chose this time top interject. "Taint was far from a terrible leader. She protected us all when we were in need of it most, she gave us a home and training to defend ourselves. She was strong, powerful and above all a good leader. Strength in an empty shell is worthless." Pain smiled at what Suna explained. She couldn't have better explained it herself. Suna continued, "As for who started the fight, we really don't know. There was talk of a past relationship between Taint and Purity, who is the leader of the Virtues, that might have triggered this quarrel. But who knows for sure. The only thing we can say for sure is that when our protective barriers fell, it was not us attacking the Virtues, they came into our land with the intention to murder us. That's all the convincing I need." Pain looked up at Murder, awaiting his response.

Murder listened to Sunas explanation. He nodded to what she was saying. All the while in his mind he was putting it all together. He thought about it more. Then something came to mind. "Maby they were siblings?" He looked up at Pain. His face showed he was deep in thought.
"I have seen brother and sister together. You will always see them argue but still stay close together. They help each other. Just like what friends would do. As for brother and bother. In this case, probably sister and sister. They will either help the other to the ends of the earth. Or be at each others throats." He gave a sigh. Then looked down at the ground. "I have see the brothers that will start wars against each other. I have actually done some killing on both sides of the feud."
He stopped and looked back up at Pain. Seeing her reaction. "I would think it would be worse for sisters. Also if they are goddesses. . ." He shivered at the thought. "That is a conflict that I hope I never get involved in." He shrugged. "Though I probably will anyway." He was remembering back to what the Shadows said. Tarna shook her head. Remember what I said? Murder looked over at her. It would be suicidal.
Murder looked back over at Pain. "What do you think?"

"From what I understand, they were best friends, but something brought them apart. I don't know for sure what or why, but I know that this war was caused by their pain." Pain knew all about pain and the problems it caused. Pain sighed, thinking about what had been said and she felt a little sad. "How can we follow and be loyal to someone who's not even here?" she said, more to herself then anyone. She looked up at Murder, wondering what his reaction to the whole thing was. He'd never even met Taint or Purity, all he had was Pain's word that Taint was good. How could he judge? "All I think is that I hope Taint will come back, then you can make a good judgment for yourself." She smiled.

Murder thought about Pains question. He knew it was hypothetical. But he did have an answer for it. "Just because the person isn't here doesn't mean that you still can't be loyal to them. What you would do is follow there last instruction. Or find the answer to a question they wanted to know." Murder smiled. This was all coming from his experiences following the Shadows. There have always been times where they have told him to do something then left without telling him how to do it. Or even why he needs to.
But from all of that Murder has become stronger than before. He looked down at Pain. He gave her a smile that would be best described as a fatherly smile. He stood up and and started to stretch. He felt that he joints were tightening up. He looked back at Pain. "So what do you want to do now?"
