Skill Shop Item Images

I need some pretty pics that I can use to be used for the skills icons. I was thinking some sort of symbol and then a number (There are 4 levels of each skill) that will show the level of the skill in the bottom right hand corner.

Please let me know if anyone is willing to take on this task. I'd ideally like to split it amonst a few people so no one person has to do all of it.

How big are the pictures needed to be? And what sort?

I'm thinking 20x20 pixels. The format for the images right now is gif, but I don't see any reason why other formats wouldn't work. The only one I would stay away from is .png, those would slow down the page considerably.
