Summon:
An albino peacock named Vox, with a crown and tail 'eyes' of blood red. When he's summoned he becomes Vanity's sight; what she sees is what he sees. The 'eyes' on his feathers are incredibly hypnotic and considerably weakens a person's resolve if they catch a gaze of them.Power:
Vox is instinctively protective of his mistress, and rather cranky when approached. Once someone has gotten his mistress' trust however, he warms up to them easily.
Considering Vanity doesn't trust very often. XD
His tail feathers when detached gives Vanity further strength to her hypnotic powers, as Vox himself was her secondary 'powerhouse' before Vanity left for Kham 'hur.
Vanity has the power of hypnotism, able to fully bend a weak-minded (or um, inebriated) person's will, but sway perceptions, thoughts and resolutions in normal people, leaving them very open to suggestion. Her eyes glow a reddish-green tinge when using Vox as a source of power, and on her own her ability is a little weaker.Weapon:
She has slight telekinesis, able to move objects not more than 4kg in weight at a time. However, she doesn't use it often; why move things around in the air when you can't see where it's going to end up?
A feather fan, with a base made of well-lacquered mahogany. Each panel is intricatedly carved and slotted with a single peacock feather. The feathers themselves are stiffened and reinforced, easily becoming makeshift daggers with hallucinogen-laced tips.Appearance:
Vanity is pale, almost extremely so. In fact, if there wasn't still a pink tinge to her skin one could probably think she'd had an Ophelia moment and died in icy water. Her hair is a very light golden blonde, reaching her waist and usually pulled back or braided. Three scratches go vertically across each eye, they've since faded but are still somewhat visible.History:
Her eyes are bright green and made of glass, and give her limited sight. Unafraid to show skin, Vanity's clothing doesn't leave much to the imagination, but never borders on trashy.
There's occasionally a peacock feather or two in her hair.
Born to a rich family in the Agaize Estates, Vanity was a pampered child raised and kept within the walls of the estate, leading to an extremely sheltered upbringing. Having been blessed by the gene pool, she indeed had been a very pretty child. Within four walls she lived a life filled with luxuries and lavish events...though about those events, she never seemed to remember them clearly after a while..Behaviour:
She'd wake up in the mornings after those events sore and exhausted, occasionally with a strange bruise or marking here and there. When questioned it was passed off as fainting spells, and young Lucien was placed on some sort of medication. Whatever that medicine was, it tended to leave her drowsy and weak. Her alleged fainting spells continued, until one day a trainee servant forgot to slip an extra drug into her drink..
She woke, much earlier than anyone had intended. Hands tied tight behind her back, it really was an unpleasant discovery when she realized she was on the lap of a man she recognized as a fellow upper-class and his hands happened to be climbing up the chiffon of her négligée. She was rapidly incapacitated again, and eventually imprisoned in her own room for many years to come, or at least until her father threw yet another party in the estates..
The constant abuse and experiences, coupled with the cocktails of drugs frequently administered to her did nothing for her mind. Her mind shattered as she struggled to cope, finding escape only within the fragments of thought which she desperately clung onto; where she was safe and loved and not just some sort of thing to be used and abused like some throwaway prostitute.
She'd been staring into her mirror one day, aimlessly twirling a stray curl in her hair, eyes puffy from crying. The familiar sounds of her door being unlocked sent her into a flurry of panic as the servants barged in, intending to make their work as quick as possible knowing Lucien's often-violent resistance. Rapidly wrestled down and yet another concoction poured down her throat, the girl's flailing knocked over the mirror she'd been gazing into. Hardly sober, the servants only looked on in horror as their charge began slashing at her own eyes with a mirror shard.
Please...take me away from here.
The cold sliver of glass drew a crimson line across her throat's milky skin, and the girl crumpled to the ground, the vestige of a smile playing across her lips.
Kham' hur's sunny hot weather definitely doesn't agree with the Pale Queen(TM), and she now maintains a semi-nocturnal sleep schedule. Usually cool and aloof, the many sides of her personality change often and without much warning. Even Vanity herself doesn't know which personality was the original, but since arriving at Kham' hur her behaviour has been more erratic and...edgy.Other:
Because of this, the locals think of her much like a very temperamental moon goddess. xD
She holds a slight candle for Honesty, though his indifference towards her begins to bug her. A lot.Journal:
As Vox begins to disappear more often, Vanity tends to have someone close to her at all times due to her severely limited eyesight.
