Restraint sat cross legged in the clearing near where he had first met Purity. His head was swimming with thoughts and feelings he had not felt in a long, long time. He thought of the Virtues. Honesty seemed honourable enough if a little to easy to trust in his opinion. Purity seemed off, almost as if she was unsure of what her goals were but she was a generous person. She had offered Restraint a place to stay after all.
He regretted leaving as he did but it was for the best. Thoughts of Purity led to thoughts of Talent and Detachment. This train of thought only served to make Restraint even angrier. The off putting feeling Restraint had gotten from Talent still irked him. He felt an odd aura. It was neither good or evil. Nor was it truly neutral though more of a combination of the 3. This feeling combined with the way the man acted made sure that Restraint would not easily like or even trust this man. There was also the little girl, Detachment. the one who had brought Talent to the House of Eternity. She seemed to be a good girl if a little to naive.
Restraint wallowed in his thoughts for a few hours, mulling over the same ones over and over again. When his thoughts again came around to his exit it was nearly mid-day. He heard foot steps coming from the bushes at the edge of the clearing. He opened his eyes to see of all things his summon. Nohar spoke first. I have left you to reflect for long enough I believe. I sense your thoughts are in turmoil. You wonder if your leaving so soon was the best choice. I will not give you an answer but I will tell you that while it lacked restraint, your actions did MOST LIKELY prevent a worse situation from occurring. "This is good to know. A question for you if I may my friend?" Restraint asked in a inquisitive tone. Go ahead young one. "The others mentioned powers the the Virtues posses. Do you know perhaps what my power is and how to use it?". Stand Restraint I wish to show you something. Nohar turned towards a bird to his left by the edge of the forest. You are hungry I can sense this. Try to catch one of those birds and I will teach you of your power.
Restraint stood and prepared for a run at the bird. He lowered himself into a running stance and took off towards the bird. He was to slow however and the bird took off before he could catch it. He did not let this stop him though. He kept moving forward and jumped off of a tree at the edge of the clearing launching himself into the air. He missed the bird by scant inches and rolled on landing to his feet. The bird settled itself now on the other side of the clearing.
Restraint brushed himself off and turned to Nohar with a questioning look. Good try young one but as you can see sometimes pure physical power is not enough. You must use RESTRAINT. Focus on the bird once more. This time do not run at it but think instead of it frozen in place as if it can not move. Keep that thought in mind. Approach the bird once more. Restraint approached the bird. This time it did not even budge. it was frozen in place by Restraint's mind. He bent down and picked it up.
He let the thought go after securing the bird under his arm. The bird came to life once more, but did not struggle to much knowing it had been caught.. You see my friend that is your power. You can now freeze any being you wish with a mere thought. Bear in mind that this will slow you down physically as part of your thoughts are taken up by the task. You may in time be able to freeze more than one being but this will cost you more of your thoughts and cause you to slow to an even greater extent. Restraint stomach growled as he listened attentively to Nohar. Now I suggest that you finish off that bird so that you may feed your self. "Agreed" Restraint answered as he snapped the birds neck.
Restraint built a small fire in the clearing and roasted the bird. He enjoyed it even if it was a little chewy. After finishing his meal Restraint made a bed for himself as he had been for the last few years. He settled in for the night and said good night to Nohar, who was also preparing for sleep.
Restraint did not sleep though as his thoughts were still not settled. Eventually however exhaustion took hold and he passed into slumber.
OOC: next post would be best if set in the morning. waking up Restraint makes him more cranky
