Loyalty's eyes widened at the sight of the axe so close to her neck. He could have killed me, just like that! Oh my gosh, that was close. She glared at him, the flipped her sword around, holding the blade. Her sword couldn't cut her. She twirled in a circle, then thrust it towards Equanimity's knees, knocking him to the ground. "I'm not a kid, okay?" she was getting pissed off.
Nalea was startled, too. What do I have, Othel? A heart? Because I'm NOT giving that to him.
"You don't have to look after me. Stop acting like your my father! My father never looked after me, anyways! He knew I could look after myself."

Equanimity's sense of battle was still about him. He felt that his arm needed to strike something. He grabbed Loyalty's sword by the handle and stabbed it into the ground. He let out his breath. His face got back some feeling. All he did at that point was give Loyalty a glare. This went on for about a minute. He was still getting his senses back. Then he finally spoke.
"You may be able to take care of yourself but. . ." He let the words run on. He was trying to think of a way to say what he is thinking. Then he knew what he needed to ask of her. "Have you ever killed someone?" He said this with a dead serious face. He needed to know before they might travel together.
Othel nearly screamed in anger. NO! He gave a sigh to calm down. No. . . You have Loyalty. She may be the only thing that might keep Equanimity linked to this world. Now I know you have reasons to not like him. But if you don't let them be together then it might take another 100 years before he finds contact with others. If you still wont let that happen then at least point him in the direction of others. It is becoming harder and harder for me to keep in touch with him.

Loyalty stared back at him as he glared at her. To think I loved you, she thought. She could tell he wanted to strike something. She rolled her eyes. Guys. "No, I have never killed someone, but I would if I had to. If I had to then I would kill anyone. So don't get on my nerves." But her voice was quiet. She felt horrible for what she did, but didn't want to admit it to Equanimity's face. She picked up her sword and but in back on her waist. She glanced at the guy. "Sorry," she mouthed.
Nalea's ears flattened. Fine, squirrel, but nothing too serious. She can stay with him, but he can't kiss her again, or something bad will happen. And yes, she said before Othel could say anything.I could sense Loyalty's shock and happiness and guessed he kissed her. Twice. And that's enough.

Othel chuckled. Even you can't stop a girls love. Eventually she will do what she wants. But it won't be soon. But don't a sigh of relief. It will happen at some time. No matter what you do. He gave Nalea a smile. Trying to lighten her mood. Then a question came to mind. What bad would happen if he did kiss her?
Equanimity lightly grabbed Loyalty's hand. Then he looked into her mind. He saw that it was dark and cold. But there was a place where all that was needed was a spark to lighten and warn the whole mind. HE then knew what the spark would be. "No. Its my fault. I know how to make it up to you. Because I know a story of your life then I should tell you one of my life. It won't be lighter than yours but it will be interesting."
Equanimity gave her an affectionate smile. He isn't able to love but he is able to show affection. Then his hand came to a bottle. He looked around and remembered that he left this bottle to become cold. He found the two glasses and poured some of the non-alcohol wine into the glass and handed it to Loyalty. "Sit down and drink this while I think up the story." He then laid back and took a sip of the wine. Perfect.

Nalea squeaked angrily. Because if she kisses him any more, something dark will happen! She may kill him! Leave me! Go off on her own! Her eyes filled with tears. So please....Tell him now! She was shaking, her tiny body trembling. I don't want to lose her! She's all I have! That's why I've been so cruel to him! Othel, please! Then she turned and ran to Loyalty.
Loyalty, we have to leave! Now! Nalea ran and leaped on her shoulder. She glanced at Equanimity, then told Loyalty what she just told Othel. Loyalty gasped. "No! No, no, no, no! Oh Nalea, your right, we have to leave!" Then she turned and glared at Equanimity. "How dare you! You saw my memories, and you didn't tell me about this! Your horrible!"occ: sry, Loyalty and Nalea are kinda jerks

Equanimity's face totally changed. It became a face of pure power. No emotion. Only focused power. Othel came out from the rock. His face showed that he was ready for what was going to happen. Equanimity looked over at Othel. There eyes met and everyone could feel the energy in the air. If you could see the energy they would see a battle of power. And Othel was losing. Then he cracked.
Othel went on his knee from all of the strain. Then finally he let out his breath and started coughing. Equanimity had entered his mind. And saw what he said. Why did you do that? Othel looked up. I needed to make sure that she could handle you. He looked over at Nalea. And she can't. Equanimity sighed. Why do you do that? Why not just see on the road? There conversation was more open to everyone now.
I have seen the after effect you have on people. The good and the bad. I wanted to make sure that they can handle it if the bad ever happened. Equanimity only smiled. What about seeing if they can handle the good? That was his way of forgiving him. You know what you need to do now. Othel smiled. Yes I do. The Othel flew into the air. And he did a bomb dive into Nalea.
They flew off Loyalty's shoulder and into the ground. Luckily Othel broke there fall. Then started to hug her. He could have done it normally. But she might have not wanted him to. So this was the best way he thought of. I am very sorry. Please forgive me. The whole time he was smiling.
Equanimity chuckled. Then looked over at Loyalty. "I am sorry for what he did. Sometimes I rub off on him. But he is far better at things than me. He has my heart. I have his mind. In a sense." He motioned over to the glasses. "Shall we continue from where we were?" He hoped that she didn't take it all against him.

Loyalty was starting to get REALLY angry. "You expect me to sit down and listen to you? You completely ignored my question! I trusted you! Or trusted," she muttered. "No wonder Nalea doesn't like you." She wiped her eyes. "I should leave. come, Nalea."
Nalea was horrified. Get off, squirrel! Flea bag, she muttered as she ran to her master.
"We're going to the ocean. I've always wanted to see it," she said to Nalea alone. "Don't worry, you won't fall in." She smiled to her summon, then turned to Equanimity, her smile vanishing. "Good bye, Equanimity."

Equanimity gave a sigh. "Good bye." He when over to his pack. He drank the two filled glasses. Then put them in his pack. He picked up the bottle and carefully put it in. He though over what he had done. Now he knew that he never should have stopped here. While he was shifting through his belonging a neckless dropped out of the pack.
Equanimity looked at it roll off. Then a glimmer caught his eye from it. Then his eyes widened. Othel knew what he was thinking. First Equanimity made a dash for it but missed but a few inches. Then Othel made a mad dash for it but also missed. It continued to roll on. Until it hit Loyalty's boot.
Equanimity looked off at it with a face of pure pain. He knew what was in it. Then it became worse. It clicked open. Inside was two pictures. One was of Equanimity. The other was of a girl around his age. They were hand drawn. The artist was very good at drawing such small pictures. Equanimity's face was stricken with pain and sorrow. And he felt it.

Loyalty'seyes filled with tears. "I knew you never loved me!" she cried, then ran off, sobbing.
Nalea jumped off her shoulder, picked up the necklace, and brought it to Othel. Her eyes were pained, too. Othel, I'm so sorry this had to happen. I thought of you as a friend, really. I'll miss you. But tell Equanimity if he truly cares for her. If he does, tell him to travel to the ocean, near the meadow. If he doesn't, then this is good-bye. She dropped the necklace, then hesitated. Then she put her paw on his, and ran off to catch up with her master.
A Meadow of Sorrow

Equanimty looked off to where Loyalty went. His mind was thinking of what to say or what to do. Then his mind didn't know what to think. So he sat there for a minite. Without a movment. Then he looked up. We need to go after them. He looked around to see where Othel was. Othel was already flying in the direction they went. You are very slow. Equanimity just smiled. He got up and pushed off all of the snow on him and started running. He hoped it was worth it.
