There are some things that annoy me about story lines.
First is that everyone isn't in them. Only a select few. And the people who ain't in them feel very left out. And when they try to join in they are rejected with a "you can join the next one." Then when the next one comes around they are still rejected.
Second is that it restricts freedom. Also it scrabbles what we should post because either they can't follow the person because they only need that person or that they don't want you. And also for the people in them. Where they can only do the things in there storyline.
Lastly it complicates everything. Where everyone needs to be somewhere. But after a while nobody knows where everyone is. So they can't do anything because everyone is doing some thing.
So there you

I'm baaaack to eat several kittens.
1. It's spelt, annoying.
2. Storylines are to move things along in tSD and to prevent things from becoming too stagnant. Some KEY characters are required in these, but not too many, to keep the plot less cluttered, simple, and centric.
3. You've only been left out once. GASP.
4. It doesn't complicate everything as much as everyone jumping in does. To keep the plots canon we need some restrictions sometimes, and when more characters become more centric to the plot, then..yeah. We go with the flow.
Now, I run to work.

Sean story lines are a necessity for RP sites... Without a story line everyone would just be walking around with nothing to do... And just because Seya asked you not to follow into another thread doesn't mean you need to get annoyed about it- You've been hopping Talent in and out of threads without a care of how that leaves all the the other players in the thread... I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the threads that you join for a bit and then poof out of after a few posts are annoyed at you.
It doesn't restrict freedom, the main people in a thread have a right to say who they want in there. I could make a thread purely for Sadness and Regret, if I wanted, and not let anyone else in because it's likely if someone else joined that might ruin where the thread was heading. Besides, Chasing Yesterday is ONE thread that they asked you not to join-- it's not like people are saying no left and right...
Lastly the only thing that I think is complicating is what you're trying to say at the end of your rant... I don't understand the last few sentences. At all.
Reason for Edit: Was typing this as Mimi did-- and I agree with what she says as well.

Mimi: Yes but what about the people who want to join in on the storyline?
I was talking about everyone in general.
Kristin: lol all of the threads that Talent was in were either completed or he got kicked out of by trees.
I was thinking of all of the other people that would have a reson to join but are able to.
Ya that last part was a blaber. Sorry

About what you said to Mimi: You are part of the story line!!! Just not every little bit! Believe it or not Sean but tSD DOES NOT revolve around your charaters!!!
---Sunrise didn't really look completed to me. And I bet if I looked around I could name a few others that you had him leave from that could have kept going.. Besides you do the same thing with Murder!!
It doesn't matter if there are other people who are allowed to join but not you maybe they actually got permission to join... Sean you can't always join a thread just because you feel like it.. I mean with Talent you were trying to follow Purity and with Murder trying to follow Gea-- maybe they don't want you to follow them, who knows.. Some things can be left to be resolved in different threads...
You really should read MY rant thread...

Well if they are then tell me how.
Well Sunrise can't be comleted because Purity was taken without another word. There were only two others that he was in and they were completed. And Murder only felt one thread. And for a good reason.

Sean, you're not listening to me at all...
And I'm not going to go look through all the threads you've been in to tell you how they weren't finished because it's not about that-- it's how there are plenty of ways to keep a thread going without just leaving it when you THINK it's done...
Sunrise doesn't have to end just because Purity left!!! There are still two or three other characters in there you could have had him talk to or something...
And NO don't try to tell me Murder 'left for a good reason'! Now I can really tell you haven't read my rant thread!! YOU COULD HAVE SAVED TALKING TO GEA FOR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THREAD YET YOU CHOSE TO LEAVE BEFORE HE COULD GET A TOUR AND FOLLOWED HER INTO CRUELTY'S INTRO THREAD!!!! It's Cruelty's thread, Cruelty's intro, and you just barged in with Murder and are trying to talk to Gea-- THAT'S RUDE!!!

Jeeze Sean!!! I'm not saying this just because!! I'm not trying to make things hard on you-- I'm trying to help you become a better RPer!! But you just shrug everything I say off because you think I'm doing it to be mean!!! I'M NOT!!! Do I really have to give all of my advice through other people just so you'll listen!?!?

Gosh Sean you are SOO INFURIATING!!!!
I've been RPing WAAYY longer than you and, from what I see, you don't know what it means to be a 'good' RPer because you DON'T LISTEN to advice people give you!!! You hyperpost, you nag people for posts, you jump in and out of threads, you think up crazy borderline god-mod charies, and you think your characters always have to be the center of everything!!!!!
TRUE nobody asked me to help, or at least you didn't, but just maybe you need it!!!! Even if you don't think so!!!

You really cant just leave a thread. I havnt been rping very long but one thing i have picked up is that you need patience. If a thread is going slow or not in the direction you want it to, wait it out a bit. Besides other people might need you there to.
In sunrise there was still my character(Justice), chastity, and inocence. And if i do remember correctly Justice got kinda irked when talent rudley pushed her out of the doorway to get to purity. That could have gotten really interesting and fun to write about.

We give advice, but it's out of our power if you want to shit on it, that's all.
We link our storylines using certain key characters that flesh out and carry on situations. The reason at times not *all* characters are welcome in some threads, or at least until some PART of the thread (read; Desperation in Exile), is because it keeps the storyline tight and streamlined; another character's involvement can veer it into a totally different direction.
As the storyline grows larger it becomes more open and allows a deeper involvement, especially from more members.
Also take Kristin's advice, I myself kept quiet when you dropkicked Mischief's head while I was in Hong Kong.
TL;DR: The world doesn't revolve around you.

Sean, I suggest you take Kristin's advice. Since she is 'closest' to you, we had asked her to help you out with tSD, and correct you. But you did not listen to her.
Purity was taken out to start up the new story arc, where VERY limited people are allowed. These characters are key characters to introduce the new story arc, WHICH, sooner or later, WILL involve all characters.
You know what your problem is? PATIENCE. You need a load of that. AND to LISTEN, not just go "blah whatthefish is she saying to me so annoying".
Kristin is considered a good roleplayer, and, to be blatantly truthful, better than you. She earned my respect (just as most of the other roleplayers had. Read, MOST) in a way that you haven't. But I want to respect everyone, so LISTEN TO KRISTIN.
Like Mimi said, you've only been left out (or denied entrance) of a thread THIS ONCE. BEAR WITH IT. If you had the patience, you'll see later that this intro to the major arc will involve EVERYONE. Because this particular story arc NEEDS EVERYONE.
And though I haven't said anything yet, Murder's intro thread didn't really involved you, but like Kristin says, you made it YOUR own centric thread. Gea can ask Murder questions laterrrrr. BESIDES, Gea had assigned Terror to bring Murder around the Retreat, and you made Talent leave, JUST LIKE THAT. It leaves Terror and Greed hanging.
What I have wanted to say has been said. When people give you advice, you must hold it in consideration. Ask yourself questions: Have you been too much? Did you really hyper post? DID YOU LEAVE OTHERS HANGING?
*headdesk* I think I have a fever. Josh, you didn't include that in the side effects.

You know Sean, you're very lucky to have Kristin HELP you. When I first started roleplaying, I knew nuts about behaving properly and not annoying others when on the internet. I had NO ONE to teach me how. NO ONE to tell me from right and wrong. I was every bit as irritating as you are. Ask Seya. Ask Zee. Ask Mimi. Ask all the 'old' rpers here. I used to spam, spam, spam and because I felt like it. I used to have thousands of !!! and ... just because it felt like fun to ME.
Then came along Zee, Mimi and Debbie because I invited them. As hard as it is to admit, but I will, THEY thought me to be a better internet surfer. And I don't think they realized it. Indirectly, all their ranting taught me. And no, they didn't TELL or TEACH me. They screamed and bullied me with words. And I'm very sure that if they were to teach me like Kristin did to you, the effect would be the same. You want proof? Go read everything that involved me, Zee and Mimi in PoS. Plenty of proof in there.
If you want people to LIKE you and to ACCEPT you in ANY way, then start listening and learn. If you still refuse to do it, get out of here. Go make your own forum with your own set of rules and YOUR own plotline. I'm sure that would be much better than staying here and getting kicked out all the time as you claim.
And you know what? There isn't a set plotline in roleplays. There never is. The only plotline people talk about is an idea of what the first poster of a thread wanted. The rest of us players, just influence the plot. We move things along. If you haven't noticed, I'll tell you now. 99% of rps never turn out exactly the way the first poster wanted. He or She first imagined this way. But as more posts come in, it goes that way. Still, it generally stays the same. BECAUSE the rest of us players RESPECT the plotline.
An example would be in Wake Up Call. It was first intended to be an introduction thread for the Sins. Simple. A loud gong wake up call, breakfast, and talk. But no one knew at first what would happen exactly and what they were gonna talk about. Terror certainly didn't wake up to KNOW that he was gonna get a job showing two newbies around. He may be the annoying brat I made him to be, but he is loyal to who he serves and will do his job. But at the end of it, what did you have Murder do? Leave to stalk after Gea.
What do you expect Terror to do now? Sit there and wait faithfully like a dog for Murder? You think he is an obedient slave willing to wait for his Master? Why would he do his job TWICE when he can do it ONCE?! And you know what I thought of getting Terror to do after your post? Use the Air to attempt pulling Murder back. Only to find that you already posted in Cruelty's intro. Wtf?!
Oh and before I forget, BE SPECIFIC.
