She shrugged, just glad that he came closer. "I never really noticed it before; I've always been able to hear them, but never see them." she smiled at Eqanimity. "I'm guessing you can see them!"

She looked down at her summon. "And Nalea just found out that she can sense what people are feeling. Thats how I knew you here!"

Loayalty, don't push it! You know he might back stab you later! She broke off, instantly regreting what she said.

Loyalty nodded to Nalea. I'm hoping that won't happen again. Her expression changed from joyful to sad.

[Sean]

Equanimity was very interested in her now. So when she became sad he stepped even closer. "What is the matter?" He had a sensear face of worries. But inside he didn't know that he was doing that.

Because Othel was so close to the girls summon he cot some of there conversation. And he scoffed at what the summon said. He wouldn't even know the first thing on how to back stab someone. You have to remember that his mind works much different than anyone else. He only knows interest. Nothing else.

[Loyal]

Nalea nodded. I know, but I can sense that he can have feelings without knowing what he's doing, she pointed out. I suggest you talk to him, squirrel.

"Nothing," Loyalty murmered. "It's.....it's just something Nalea said, thats all. She said not to get to close to you, incase you - " She choked on the word. "Back-stabbed me."

Her eyes wouldn't meet his. The past was so painful. She could tell that Nalea was angry with herself for her words. It's alright, Nalea, I forgive you.

Equanimity became even more confused. "What is 'back-stab'?" He thought about it for a second. "Is it a human dish? Because I think that should have a shorter name." He was thinking that he should do something but he didn't know what he should do.

See I told you. I doesn't know what it is. Othel thought back on what he said. I have talked to him before about this. This isn't the first girl he had come across. But this is the first he has talked to for this long. I think this is very promising.

[Loyal]

Loyalty smiled breifly. "Back-stabbing is when someone close to you betrays you. When they're no longer loyal to you." She looked him in the eye again. Her eyes were somewhat red, like she'd been crying.

Nalea sighed. Squirrel, I know. I just hope he doesn't leave her. That boy has much to learn, and Loyalty can teach him. And if he leaves.....Nalea's voice quieted. Something bad might happen to her.

Equanimity now knew what he had to do. He came up to her as to kiss her but then moved to the side and hugged her instead. He moved his mouth to her ear. "I am sorry. But. . ."

Equanimity let go of her and moved back. His face was of much seriousness and planning. "I am not a person you can get close to." He sat down on a pillar. "I can't love. I can't hate. All that I know is interest and peace. I'm sorry. . ."

Othel felt like he was going to cry. But he knew that this has happened before. It made him remember who Equanimity really was. An ever drifting current. Down a river of memory's. He glided back over to Equanimity's sholder. Neither of them knowing what was going to happen next.

Nalea squeaked in rage at Othel and Equanimity. Nice one! Now Loyalty's going to cry and maybe run away and that boy will never see her again!

Loyalty's eyes widened with joy as he hugged her. But as he said he could never love her back, her eyes started to water. "I-I understand," she whispered quietly. "You can never love me....the way I love you..." Her body shook, but she took a deep breath to steady herself. She gave a bitter laugh. "And wow, this is the first time I've ever loved someone, too!" Her blue eyes shone with fear, pain, and a broken heart. Her hands were making fists, the blue triangles on them streached.

Nalea was glaring at the boy, talking to him. Look! You hurt her so much! She let Loyalty's feelings for him flow into his mind, all the love she felt for him, how loyal she was to him, and the fear that he would leave her. All the pain, love, fear, betray she had felt in her life. But the strongest feeling was the warmth of her love for the boy she just met. This is what love feels like! How much she cares for you! She would let her friend kill her ten times over just to see you again, boy!

Equanimity just sat down. Inside him everything was exploding. Because the connection with the girl was so resent he could feel what she was feeling. And it was too much for him. Everything in his mind was scrambled. When he sat down a single tear came down his face and landed on the ground. Othel knew what happened.

SHUT UP YOU FLEE BAG FOOL! Othel was directing that to the girls summon. He then nuzzled himself against Equanimity's face. Hoping that it will help his mind reset. He then directed his thoughts to the girl.

Please stop. . . Its too much for him. HE may seem tough but he is very fragile in that sense. If you truly love him them you will be sensitive to him. I don't know what he will feel when he comes back. He may love you or he might not. But for his sake stop that. . .

[Loyal]

Loyalty shrieked and tears started running down her face. "NALEA, STOP IT! YOUR HURTING HIM!" She was in so much pain that without thinking she kicked her summon. Nalea's body shimmered and disappeared before Loyalty's foot hit her. She appeared a few feet away, a look of horror on her face. She turned and fled the clearing.

Loyalty didn't pay any attention to Nalea. She ran and hugged Equanimity, not sure what else to do. "E, I'm so sorry! Forgive me, please! Just snap out of it! Wake up! E! PLEASE!" She was shaking, trying to bring him back. "WAKE UP! Don't listen to Nalea! Just come back, please!!" she was starting to panic. What was happening to him?

When Equanimity was brought back his mind was changed a little. He was startled by Loyalty shaking him. "Whoa. Whoa. WHOA! Please stop. I am fine." He looked at her face and gave a sigh. " I am sorry about that. I has only happened around three times." He gave her a smile.

Equanimity then gave her a kiss. Right on the lips with no warning. Then he just gave her a warm smile. "So you want so lunch?" I like the new you. Do you care for her now? Equanimity thought about it for a second. I don't know. All that I know is that I have to make sure that she doesn't cry again. But beyond that I don't know. Go look for her summon.

Othel gave a sigh. Fine. So does that mean you can't make her cry in the other way? Equanimity gave a glare at Othel. Just go. So then Othel flew off to wherever the girls summon was.

Loyalty laughed with relief as Equanimity woke up from whatever-it-was. When he kissed her, she fell back and sat down with wide eyes. "I-I would love lunch," she murmered. But then her eyes filled with tears again. She gasped. "Oh no...What have I done?" She started shaking. "Nalea! Oh my god, what have I done? Where is she?"

She looked around. "I kicked her, then she ran off! No no no! I'm a horrible person! My poor summon!!"

[Sean]

Equanimity gave a sigh. "You are not a horrible person. Maby kicking your summon might have been too much but besides that you did fine. Othel is already looking for her don't worry." He sat beside her and put his arm across her back for some comfort.

"Don't worry. Othel will find her for sure." Then he took out a sandwich. "You want? Its just cheese." He gave her a warm comforting smile both to her and inside her mind. Luckily she let him this close or he wouldn't be able to do that.

[Loyal]

Loyalty smiled a bit. "I just hope she forgives me though. She was pretty mad...." She trailed off, sniffling. "Thanks, E. For everything." She smiled back at him. "I'm okay now." She shrugged his arm off. She didn't want to upset Nalea anymore. Nalea, if you can hear me, I love you.

She looked at the sandwich. "Oh, thank you! I'm starved! Me and Nalea traveled so far to come here!!" She smiled warmly at him, trying to make up for pushing him back. "Nalea can feel others' feelings a long way away. We were miles from here when she sensed you! I had to carry her most of the way, too, but being able to move water helps!"

Equanimity gave a small chuckle. HE didn't mind her pushing his arm away. All he wanted was for her to not cry. He still didn't know if he loved her. It might have been a brotherly thing. But what he was thinking was not brotherly in any way.

"Hm very interesting. Well if you are thirsty. . ." He trailed off. HE got up and went over to his pack where he kept all of his food and drinks. When he came back to sitting with her he had a bottle and two cups in his hand. "This is something the humans call wine. And I must say it is very good. Would you like some." He had two bottles of this in the pack. This was the one that didn't have any alcohol in it. He didn't want her to be a drunk if she did drink it.

Loyalty smiled, glad he wasn't hurt. AND she was glad that she could trust him. "Um.....If you thinks it's okay..." She took the glass and drank a small amount. It tasted funny and she stuck her tongue out, trying to get rid of the taste. "Uck! What the heck?" Then she laughed. "I guess I have to get used to it, maybe? I dunno." She smiled at him. "E, that was horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself for doing that." But in the end, she couldn't keep a straight face and burst out laughing.
