Summon:
Kae's summon is an adolescent Pygmy Hippopotamus with navy blur skin and disturbingly accurate facial expression exoressed depending on his mood. His name is Mydei (mee-day) and his loyalty to Kae is astounding. He is by her side day and night. Some might think this annoying, but Mydei is quiet and blends in well with the background...that is, until the situation changes.Power:
Kae is able to drain the energy instantaneously out of anyone she touches. Killing goes against her "innocent" personality; she prefers to leave her victims relatively unharmed. Also, if she chooses not to touch the person, she can dodge attaks effortlessly, bringing fatigue out of constant offensive movements.Weapon:
Due to past experiences, Kae holds a deep rejection to weapons in general. She prefers to manipulate that which can be retuned eventually, therefore causing the least amount of harm possible. She also knows that Mydei will always be there to help, if need be. She will only use her hands in self- defense and would much rather stay out of unnecessary fighting.Appearance:
For a fourteen year old, Kae is wuite tall for her age. She is currently at 5 feet seven inches and is fairly skinny, but not twig-like. Her skin has a very pale complextion which no amount of sun can seem to alter. Her hair is a medium-brown, waist length and falls between curly and wavy. It surrounds her somewhat childish face perfectly, amplifying her facial curves and blending nicely with her milk choclatey eye colour. A tatoo of a white water lily rests on the skin above her heart. Kae prefers simple clothing as to eleborate choices. Flowing skirts, and long-sleeved shirts adorn her body. Sandals are fine, but usually Kae will walk around barefoot so as not to seem so dependent of possessions. She will always be found with a natural flower resting on her head. She tranfers enerdy into the plant so that it will never wither, until she chooses to place her flower back into the earth. Much of the time Kae will be smiling for reasons unknown, with few exceptions.History:
Kae was not raised accompanied by wealth, fancy possessions, or fine clothing. On the contrary, she grew up on the low end of the financial food-chain. And yet she was happy. Very much so.Behaviour:
Sure, her parents were away a lot to make money for food and yes, she was the target of many bullies at school, but that did not stop her optimism.
Her parents struggled for a decent income because they loved her and despite the constant tirade of insults, she had one friend who she was very, very close to. He understood Kae's opinion of life. For she focused entirely on unity, balance, togetherness and positive energy.
She was so enthralled with the possibilities of life that other people her age dismissed her opinions as delusional and unimportant. But no amount of teasing could stop Kae from completing her special project.
When her parents were away, she would work diligently and passionately on her own creation: a garden full of every plant life she could get her hands on. Roses, Cacti and Chrysanthemums were present along with green grass and resident insects and small mammals.
Everyday she would gaze out into the desert and enjoy the fact that she had solely created a small pocket of living energy in an otherwise dead habitat.
Kae's parents commmented on the garden's beauty everyday, and while immensely pleased that her work could gain such reactions, Kae's parents were not the intended audience.
When ushered unexpectedly out of Kae's house on regular occasions, her friend smiled to himself knowing that one day he would get to see and love whatever it was she was hiding.
One day, Kae witnessed a stabbing in a back alley. Frightened, she hastened away from the gory scene. She later found out that the victim had died from blood loss.
The one thing Kae was shocked the most about was the fact that she did not do anything whatsoever. She just ran away! Kae knew that stabbing was wrong. She knew the weapon that had caused the death was used wrongly. She also knew that running away was wrong. Kae did not pause to wonder why she was so sure about these things.
Over the next few days, many different, yet related events occured. "Oil! Oil! We found Oil!" The door slammed as Kae's father nearly ran through it to get her attention. As Kae's father described the 'benefits' of this discovery, Kae wondered how a sudden onslaught of money would rebuild their little world. She already had everything she needed, so why make such sudden changes?
She smiled and nodded to her father as he enthusiastically told his story. After she had finally been dismissed, Kae went to find her best friend. "This is wrong, somehow..." Kae told him, easily expressing her opinion.
This time, however, she was surprised when he seemed hesitant to agree with her logic. "Meet me at my house in a week." Kae said suddenly. "I have something to show you. Her best friend nodded in understanding.
She gave him a long, calculating
look that he knew all too well, then smiled and left. His happiness vanished, however, turning into a much more greedy emotion when the possibilities of an easier life flashed through his mind. This discovery is amazing! He mused. I should make a list of things I want when the money comes flowing in.
As the days passed, money overlowed, Kae's unease grew and nightmares of the alleyway stabbing haunted her sleep. The knife's serrated jaws glistened evilly in the dark. Other strange, unmentionable and unknown weapons made an appearance in her mind.
Yet, she woke up happy, with lingering tears on her face on the day of the presentation. Her best friend could finally share the innocent energy of her garden together with her. He arrived and she teasingly led him into the back with a blindfold covering his entire face.
When it was removed, all thoughts of wealth, items and popularity disappeared from her best friend's mind. He couldn't feel his own thoughts, there was so much feeling. A buzzing filled his ears as a single tear drop escaped his eye. "...Beautiful." This was all he managed to say before being caught in a crushing embrace. Kae held with all of her strength. She trusted in him so deeply now...it was magical.
"Do you hear that?" Strangely, the buzzing was getting louder. Brows furrowed, the children turned towards the horizon where small dots were steadily growing larger.
"They're coming for it!" Screams could be heard outside in the streets as the clash of steel on steel resonated through the garden's walls. "Swords..." Images of the knife flashed before Kae's eyes as she clutched her best friends' hand. They made eye contact at the exact same second. "I lov-"
The walls were ripped apart as a bombshell exploded near the gardin. All because of greed. Kae's home and possibly her life was being destroyed because some greedy fools desired money.
She gasped as pain flooded through her chest. She looked up and her eyes locked onto the sightless ones of her very best friend, a small smile still lingering on his lips. He's right... Kae thought. I'm...so happy that...he could feel the...energy with me...so happy. Her eyes closed silently. One hand still held onto her best friend and the other gently held the withering stem of a pure white water lily as the world faded from sight.
Kae is sort of a conflicted virtue. She radiates serenity and a positive affinity for energy, which is basically everything that exists. This being the case, she understands the fortune of "living" as such and having the ability to simply be. But she is also wise for someone so young, and that causes her to clearly define the differences between right and wrong. Her experiences during her life have also given Kae difficult, yet insightful enlightenment. Therefore, her attitudes about subjects are very objective, defiant and extremely personal. She expresses herself a little too openly, but at the same time, private thoughts are kept under mental lock and key, so no one can be absolutely sure what is going throughout her mind. Kae is naturally curious and enjoys meeting new people, but the past has kept her weary of potential harm, or manipulation. As long as someone new can find a way to earn Kae's trust, they will remain good friends.Other:
Every night before going to sleep, Kae simply watches the stars with Mydei, contemplating the days events, or not thinking at all. The stars make her happier than she usually is because they keep burning energy for the sole purpose of survival, kind of like her...that is, if she was an inanimate object.Journal:
