The wind blew lightly through the forest. Few of the creatures that lived there were stirring at the late hour, and the ones that did kept clear of the figure that walked silently through its overgrown paths.
A long, oak staff was by this figure as a third leg. A small animal walked in front of the figure as a sort of guide. It wasn't that the figure was a complete stranger to the area, it had just been a long time since he had been there. It had changed much in his absence.
In truth, he didn't know why he had decided to return. He told himself it was because he belonged there. He also told himself that they would need him. However, he always felt as though there was another, unknown reason. Either way, in the last few months, he had felt himself drawn more and more to the other virtues. He knew that eventually, he would give in and go back to the palace where he once had lived.
Now that he was here, he wasn't sure what to do next. All he knew was that he was at home. He pulled the hood off of his head as a smile spread over his face. A laugh escaped from his mouth.
Trust had returned.
