Lust's eyes widened as the wolf strode confidently into the clearing. She watched in rapt fascination as the young girl before her seemed torn between moving towards the beast and away from it. Her mind reeled. "So it's true..." she whispered, in awe of what she was witnessing. She took a step towards the red head, positioning herself between Lark and the Virtue.
"If you feel any remorse for what has happened here, you will leave this place," she spat at the Virtue. Perhaps it was harsher than necessary, but Lark could not speak to her with Restraint there. She studied the Virtue, still untrusting. She had recognized Larketh at once and while she suspected he would protect his companion at any cost, she would rather it not come to that, so she softened her voice to plead to the Virtue. "You have all the answers we can give you. Please..." she paused, "go." She readied her whip in case he decided not to grant her request.

Restraint looked surprised when the giant wolf appeared behind Lark. This confirms what I thought, the girl who stands before you I believe is she who once was the Goddess Taint. Restraint's look of surprise faded and it turned to a more hopeful look. He thought about what he had learned in the past few minutes. He was not surprised by the truth of what the Virtues did to the Sins. He realized that the Sins were, if not the "good" guys, at least the moral side and to Restraint that is all that mattered.
He turned to Lust drawing his staff in the process and dropping into a ready stance. He answered in a strong forceful tone "You do not seem to realize that if I were to go back the Virtues I would be going back to a group of brainwashed liars, and murderers. You said yourself that it was they that drove from this place. If I were to go back I would have to forget what they did. This I cannot do. In fact if I may..." Restraint placed his staff in front of himself and knelt raising his hands palm up. He stated in a hopeful tone, "...I wish to join you."

Lust looked down at Restraint. He was so humble, so sincere. He lived up very well to his name, though he would probably need a new one if he were to join them. "It's not my place to accept or decline your offer," Lust whispered. She was acutely aware of the wolf and girl behind her. She wondered if they wanted to be left alone. They seemed to be entranced in their own world.
ooc: I'm not sure if Lust should offer to have Restraint go with her to look for the other Sins and leave Lark and Larketh to their meeting or if she she should stay. She somewhat trusts the Virtue, but is that where you wanted this to go, Seya? Help?

ooc: Nahh, I'll pick that up for you. As Lark's eyes remained focussed on the huge wolf, said beast glanced upwards at the conversation that had been taking place between the woman--Lust, inner-Taint cried out into his mind with a sigh of relief-- and the virtue. He heard the man's words carefully, and it... astounded Larketh. A virtue with a different mindset. Caught in between a world he wanted to leave and one that was resisting letting him join. Maybe...
Young mistress, the wolf said, bowing his head back down to Lark's. Please grant us the favor of allowing Taint's opinion to be heard.
Lark snapped out of her daze and turned to face Restraint and Lust, her eyes wild and conflicting. It was odd to see the acidic and deep green twisting like mixed paint behind her pupils. "A'ight," she whispered, and then stumbled backwards.
She caught herself before she fell, awkwardly, like a child learning how to walk, and then as she got to her feet again, flexed her fingers and arms, looking at them in a mix of emotions, none completely clear. Then, eerie lime eyes raised to judge the male immortal.
The awkward movements were gone as she fluidly strode forwards, with none of the hesitation Lark had. Her movements echoed power that wasn't truly there, but still gave her a feeling of elegance to all those who watched. She brushed Lust's shoulder with a kind hand before stepping past the somewhat surprised girl, and approaching the virtue--Restraint, Lark cut in-- with an emotionless stare.
"I've certainly never come across a virtue as blatantly hateful of their own people as you," she noted, looking up at him. "Brainwashed liars and murderers they are, but I can't say that we haven't done our own share of wrong deeds. We are, after all, sins, and the urge to do harm runs like vibrant blood in some of our veins. If this was not Lust you walked in on today, you might very well be dead by now. Thankfully, I'm proud to say--" her gaze switched to Lust, apologetic, and yet warm. "--that my more trusted friends can contain themselves."
Lark-Taint looked back at Restraint. "I do not trust you, boy. Nor can I renounce you as a virtue and call you a sin of mine until I am restored. If you're still willing, knowing that, then stay with me. I will name you a sin when I am me again."
Satisfied with her speech, she tilted her head a fraction to one side, and gave him a dark, questioning look.

Lust bowed her head as her Empress walked by, but her ears burned and her eyes stung with tears. Could she really not know what she had done? What she was? The words rang in her ears:
Deserter...
Betrayer....
Her Empress could not really still consider her a trusted friend if she knew...could she?
Lust studied the ground, the frost beginning to return with the cold. She felt a hand graze her shoulder and she knew whose it was, but couldn't bring herself to face her. Lust hadn't come back prepared to deal with Empress Taint, she had come back prepared to deal with Empress Vengeance and Emperor Deception. She blinked hard. To hear the words when she knew what she had done, to hear herself called trusted and friend, it was almost too much for her to bear. She wanted it to be true, every fiber of her being wanted it to be true. But she knew it would probably never be so again.
Even if she wanted it, even if someone was willing to give it, she knew in her heart of hearts that she didn't deserve forgiveness.

Restraint lowered his hands and looked up at Lark. "I do not care for names and titles, nor if I have your trust. I would prefer to earn it than be given it for no reason. What ever happens however I will stay as long as you remain truthful with me and do not try to manipulate. Tell me the truth, and give me a good reason and I will do as you ask." Restraint stood and placed his staff once more where it belonged on his back. "Remember one thing, I follow those who do what is right, those who fight for the right side, even if it is not the traditional side of good. If you are to do something that I find morally wrong I will leave you as I left the Virtues."
"Now, how would you suggest we go about restoring you to your former glory?" with a questioning look and a slight smile on his face. "It would not surprise me if the Virtues trie to stop you given their past actions. I will back you but I will not kill without a reason." Restraint added in a more sarcastic tone, "Keep in mind at least one of them has given me a reason."

A shiver of laughter cut through Lark's mind. I dare you to try and leave me, Taint thought. The intention behind it was mercilessly cruel, and forced the human girl to back away into a corner of the darkness.
"I shall give you no reason," Lark-Taint smirked, acid eyes wild and vengeful. "But for now, I'm going to ask you to hide. Both of you. I felt another presence leave only moments ago.... was anyone following you, virtue?"

Panic flickered across Lust's face. No... she thought, prayed that she was wrong. She composed herself to look at Taint. "We will do as you ask, my Emperess," she acknowledged. She cast her eyes towards the Virtue, unsure of whether or not she should invite him to join her or not. "Come on," she said, motioning giving him a come hither gesture. Without waiting for him to acknowledge she and Jakara took off at a run towards the forest of dead trees and bushes where she intended to hide.

Restraint turned on his heel to follow Lust and started to run after her. He added before leaving "There was one other. The Virtue Honesty was sent by Purity to keep tabs on me. If he is gone he most likely left to inform Purity of what is going on." With that Restraint sprinted to catch up with Lust and her summon.
Perhaps you should ask this Sin where she is taking us before we get lost. Restraint agreed and when he caught up with Lust he asked "Lust, where are you taking us? I know of nothing in the direction."

Lust reached the edge of the trees and tugged on Restraint's arm to pull him beside her in her hiding place. "We aren't going anywhere just yet. She said hide, not leave. I can't leave yet, not without knowing..." Jakara lay down beside her and she sat on the cool ground. She couldn't feel it through her coat, but she knew it was cold. She could still make out the girl and wolf in the clearing, but she hoped that they were far enough away not to interfere with Lark's senses of who else might be lurking around. She leaned back on Jakara and looked up at the man above her. How long had it been? she wondered idley.
Lust... Jakara growled behind her, reminding her of the reason they were hiding in the bushes.
"It was just a thought," she defended under her breath, but focussed on watching who Lark's myterious visitor would be. She hoped against hope that she was wrong. But she found she couldn't use her senses as well as before she had left the Empire, before Empress Taint left.

Restraint ducked into the bushes after Lust.
OOC: Sorry for the really short post but there isn't much else I could do right now. Figured I should tie up the loose end. Also when did Restraint become the stalker? This is the third time he has hidden in the bushes in 2 days.

Ooc: Since Honesty doesn't know about Taint talking or about Larketh, they'll be surprised. Lalala we're back!
Honesty had grabbed onto Fey's fur with his left arm, and held Purity's hands tight with his other. They reappeared far enough from the ruins to not be overheard, but near enough that it was only a short walk's distance away. There, he filled her in grimly. About Lust, about Restraint's interaction with her, and Lark appearing.
"... and they were talking about a war here. That had happened. Restraint doesn't look happy." He said, worriedly.

Purity's hand went limp in Honesty's. Her. Back again. Pandeon laid a solemn head on her shoulder, silenced by the news. She felt choked by more tears. Her hot face was set squarely to face where Honesty had directed her. She swallowed her tears. "But why?" She pleaded with Honesty, crumpling to the ground, not knowing what it was she felt. Fear? anger?
Her voice dropped with her body. "Where is he? where is Restraint? Honesty," She sighed, "I need to know who I can trust."
OOC: Sorry, quick post.
