This book you've just selected from the table did not originally belong to the writers who wrote inside. Writers? Yes, there's more than one. If it were not for the embossed gold designs and carvings, intricately drawn by hand first, on the henna brown leather skin, it'd look too plain and ordinary to be able to catch the (VERY INQUISITIVE, what're you doing here in the first place?) eyes of the reader.
You turn the book around, the intricately designed gold embosses covering the back of the book as well, along with a strange, yet eerie design of an eye. A quote was carved in rusted gold below the eye.
“There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed.”
This book did not seem to have a title on the front cover.
If you've read the other tomes surrounding this book, you'll notice that this book seemed newer than the rest, and less filled up. There are several charms and trinkets taped to the inside of the book, making it look rather bulky. That, would have probably piqued your interest. Why're there even things taped to the book?
You lift up the cover, to see the title and names scribbled inside.
You turn the page and are surprised to see a sort of log, written in decent ink calligraphy. You thought you had discovered a diary, didn't you? Well, it is certainly in a journal-like format(first person and everything) but, instead of embarrassing incidents and deep secrets, you stumble across: escapades?
Adventures of two boys as steal their way into comfortable living fill a good 9 years worth of pages. Of course, you wonder when their need turned into that of greed. Luckily for you, that little tale is the first entry in this twist to the normal diary you were hoping for. But who knows- maybe you'll enjoy reading this? Or maybe you'll think this is just the childish bragging of two thief scum?

Either way you're guaranteed to pick up some tricks on the way.
